We envision GIS: YES acting as a PORTaL for geospatial technologies in education and related resources. This will be accomplished by emphasizing 5 major concentrations: Partnerships, Outreach, Research, Training and Learning. With our roots established in collaborative principles, we will endeavor to meet the needs of the evolving technologies and its users to nurture the efficacy of spatial awareness in education.
- Promote awareness of spatial thinking, advocate spatial learning by connecting curriculum and the global community, and provide essential resources and avenues for collaboration.
- Support development of short and long term goals as defined by key stakeholders.
- Address the needs of all generations of learners, employers, agencies and educational institutions for instructional, spatial and analysis tools.
- Offer services and programs, while we form and maintain partnerships for individuals and organizations with interests in geospatial technologies and education.
